To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the world needs to leverage the full potential of all generations. Solidarity across generations is key for sustainable development. We must collaborate to foster successful and equitable inter-generational relations and partnerships to ensure “no one is left behind.” keeping this in mind O-YES Global Foundation and Indonesian embassy in Ethiopia has successfully organized international youth day celebration ceremony at the embassy of Indonesia, with the theme “The Role of The Youth in International Development”, in 12 of August, Addis Ababa,Ethiopia. the event was commenced by a key note speech by the ambassador of Indonesia H.E Al Busyra Bansur, after the commencement of the event a small dialogue on different topics related to youth and international development was held.
One of the key lessons from the discussions was that youth have to:
- Equip themselves with the necessary hard and Soft Skills that will make them critical and independent thinkers.
- Study the social and cultural norms and values and work to develop and transfer to the next generation.
- The youth actively participate in national dialogues concerning national issues and must work towards sustainable peace.
